About our group.
Over the past fifteen years, one major challenge for the group was painting the Portraits of the Seven Signatories of the 1916 Proclamation, which now hang in the Arbour Hill Museum in Dublin.
Portraits of the Seven Signatories of the 1916 Proclamation.
In 2016 to commemorate the Centenary of 1916, Suncroft Art Group, undertook a special project to paint the portraits of Seven Signatories of the 1916 Proclamation.
It took our ladies many weeks to research each subject, and working from black and white photographs was a challenge as each artist got to know their subject well. To complete the project, a trip to Arbour Hill was decided.
Sometime later the (I.U.N.V.A.) Irish United Nations Veterans Association expressed an interest in buying the collection of portraits. The Portraits now hang in Arbour Hill Museum, Co Dublin.
A5 moleskin notebook.
The Kildare Artist Notebook Project was established by Kildare County Council Arts Service 2011. Artists in all genres and at all stages of their career were invited to take an A5 moleskine notebook, to use it as they wished and return it to become part of an exhibition.
One of our artists Helen Molyneux took part in this project, and her moleskine notebook is on exhibit and became part of the permanent Maynooth University Library Special collection.
Some of the notebooks are from very well known artists, and sometimes the artist is less well known.
